Mae West, Barbra Streisand, Angela Lansbury, Katharine Hepburn and Liza Minnelli were just a few of the iconic Broadway and Hollywood ladies making an appearance Thursday when singer, comedienne and impressionist extraordinaire Christine Pedi began a three-day engagement ofThere’s No Bizness Like Snow Bizness at the Cabaret at the Columbia Club. There is a 2:30 p.m. matinee this afternoon and the show closes tonight with a 7:30 p.m. performance.

The Cabaret at The Columbia Club, 121 Monument Circle, aka the third floor’s Crystal Terrace, twinkled with stardust as Block brought her own brand of vivaciousness to attendees of the upscale club’s annual fundraiser.

At A Wicked Cabaret, Friday’s fundraiser for the Cabaret at the Columbia Club, it was announced that Stephanie J. Block, the featured performer, soon would be taking over for Sutton Foster in the lead role in Anything Goes on Broadway.

For me the weekend included a double dose of music by one of my favorite contemporary musical theater composers, Jason Robert Brown (“The Last Five Years,” “Songs for a New World”). Brown headlined at the Cabaret at the Columbia Club and I served as the Q to his A in post-show, on-stage discussions Friday and Saturday nights.
