An exciting, dynamic new home will provide our growing Indianapolis audiences the opportunity to experience world-class performers in a unique, intimate setting that only The Cabaret – both as an organization and an art form – can provide.
A New Home for Cabaret In the heart of downtown Indianapolis, in the Metzger Building at 9th and Pennsylvania Streets. The Metzger Building, owned by Buckingham Companies, is part of the area Buckingham is developing as "Library Square" an area centered on creative office, gallery, and cultural space, featuring historic loft and new construction, apartments, restaurants, public art, and a pedestrian "living alley." The Metzger Building also houses the Arts Council of Indianapolis and Gallery 924.
A World-Class Venue An urban chic venue designed by RATIO Architects, featuring state of the art sound and lighting to spotlight the world-class artists who grace our stage. Flexible seating will allow for 180-200 patrons for performances and 300+ for special events.
Arts Partnerships Shared common space with the Arts Council / Gallery 924 provides opportunities for collaboration and deeper engagement in the arts and cultural community. The Cabaret will also serve other arts organizations and performers in need of rehearsal and performance space.
Expanded Programming Expanded artistic and educational programming will allow The Cabaret to better serve local artists and our rapidly growing audience in new and exciting ways.
Community Re-Development / A New Cultural Corridor A vision for a new cultural corridor in the city including such organizations as The Indianapolis Public Library, the Arts Council of Indianapolis, Gallery 924, The Cabaret, Phoenix Theatre, and more.
